Everyday life | Mothersday | Blog

Hello my lovelies and welcome to my Friday blog! Let's share, let's connect, let's gooo!

So this year has of course been intense for all of us and living life like normal has honestly not been the case more so for some of us then others. We have had more limited interactions with family and friends so when we finally do met up you really feel how needed it has been and to able to celebrate mothers day with my family was nice.

As the weather had been sunny and wonderful there was of course going to be food BBQing and my mum is very considerate to my lifestyle and she BBQ'd vegetables for me to enjoy.

I had pulled oumph with a fresh salad, BBQ'd vegetables, rice, roasted potatoes and grilled corn on the cob.

She had also baked a vegan cake with some vegan whip cream and strawberries and due to my father being diagnosed with early stages of diabetes she made it sugar free. The cake was lovely and I was happy that everyone tried a piece. I am the only vegan in my family at least that I am aware of so it's nice when they are being open to it. I was even informed that my older brother tried the plant based option of a burger at Max and he really enjoyed it.

It's nice to relax, catchup and enjoy home-cooked food to complete the experience. We had all gotten our mum a little something and being the foodie I am I got her some lovely baking moulds for sponge cake. She had hinted that she loved the look of them when I got a few for Christmas from my older brother so I of course kept that in mind.

My niece was there too and she always clings onto me when we visit and it makes my heart melt every time. She's such a sweetheart, we always end up playing together and usually it's hide and seek we did however team up to play Kubb which of course meant that I played and she cheered on. It was fun.

At the evening my younger brother wanted us to come visit his new home, he have moved to the country side together with his SO and when he asked us to come visit my niece became so eager for me to see her room. The joy beaming across her face as we said yes is priceless.

They live in a lovely little red house with a big lawn and a place for horses in which they will have my brother's SO's horses eventually. Being there really brought me back to when we used to live on the country side as kids. I have so many cherished memories from that time in my life so feeling the same sense of peace while the silence embraces you like a blanket really is indescribable.

A great end of a fantastic day.
