Health | Doctors appointment P2 | Blog
Hello my lovelies and welcome to my Friday blog! Let's share, let's connect, let's gooo!
So I decided to book an appointment with my doctor as I have the past few years contemplating my options and I felt ready to speak to professionals about it.
The following article contains material that may be harmful or traumatizing to some readers. Look after yourself and I'll see you on my next blog post.
I rang my healthcare centre and spoke to a lovely operator that explained to me that I should be able to send my own medical referral if I wished to be sterilized but perhaps it's best to meet a doctor and have them pass one on.
During my appointment we went through my medical history and if I have ever been pregnant or had children before. Which I have not. She also asked a few basic questions as to establish why I was there and that I felt certain of my choice.
It honestly felt fantastic speaking to a professional about this topic as they show so much understanding and genuinely want to hear how you feel and aid you in the best way possible.
We ended the appointment with her sending a medical referral for me and she chuckled a bit as she doesn't normally do referrals for women sterilization.
It was a very light-hearted remark and she was a delight to speak to about this topic. It did make me consider just the fact that speaking about the things we wish for in life is important and most of all that there isn't a template of life we all should follow. There are so many paths we may journey on and if we life a good honest life true to us and that of course doesn't bring harm to anyone around us, is that then not worth having an open-minded conversation about?
That's some food for thought. Now all I had to do is wait.
More on that on my next blog.
